For the next earthquake we have only archaeological evidence. It occurred during the first decade B.C. and totally destroyed old Nisa and the settlements east of Bagir, west of Ashkhabad (Atlas). The degree of destruction suggests the occurrence of a large earthquake in this part of the Kopet Dagh.
