During the same spring the Lacedaemonians led an army against Argos, and advanced as far as Cleonae, but retired in consequence of an earthquake1.

  1. As had happened in 426 at the Isthmus of Corinth, when the Spartans reached Cleonae, they broke off a military expedition against Argolis because of an earthquake. [nE]
