[pp. 7--8]

As planet Mars was close to the stellar group Sin, a star fell on the province of Toug-kiun (Chan-toung), and when it hit the earth, it transformed into stone. Some individuals wrote the following inscription in that stone: “the Emperor shall die, and the Earth will be divided [It could also mean “shared”]. The Emperor Chi-Houng heard the news. He sent officers to gather information at the site, but since nobody answered their questions, he ordered to arrest the inhabitants of the county where the stone had fallen, had them executed, and gave orders to burn the stone.1

  1. Translated from French into English by editor.
